Guru:  A person who has a lot of experience in or knowledge about a particular subject. Someone who other people respect and go to for advice about a particular subject.

 

Someone has to be the "go-to" person and have the experience and knowledge to be the subject matter expert (SME). Don't look now, but there is a huge, blinking, neon sign over your head pointing directly at you! The executives that we partner with are looking to us to be the champions of administrative processes, procedures, tools, and technology.  We are incredibly valuable, and we do make a difference! It is okay to permit yourself to be great at what you do.  So go on and celebrate being an Administrative Guru! 

 

Over the years, I have defined what that term means to me, and I have expanded it to include several areas that I believe are critical in performing the highest functions in our roles.  These workshops go above and beyond other classes that provide only high-level overviews.  In these hands-on workshops, we take a deep dive into the tools and functionality of each program.  We spend time understanding the cross-functional integrations available in each product, discuss current industry standards, review best practices, and then learn how to use and implement the tools in our everyday processes.  Becoming a guru in these areas will differentiate you from others in our field and help you build a career that you love!
